Rating:  - * It is about time... ... ZZ Top's 'Greatest Hits' is a fantastic album. This long awaited DVD has finally arrived. This is not a NEW release, originally published on VHS in 1992; I've been waiting 15 years for the DVD edition (my VHS tape is worn thin). This is a collection of the Music Videos originally shot for each of the songs on the Greatest Hits album. The sound quality and picture are what one would expect from DVD - excellent. Watching and listening to this on a big screen with surround sound - goose bumps. For ZZ Top fans this bit of 'nostalgia' is a must have. For those unfamiliar with ZZ Top, it's a great introduction to both the group and their video vision... No there are not a lot of extras since this, as stated, is the original VHS released on DVD. That fact takes nothing from the quality of the music or the videos. As a previous reviewer mentioned, this is not 'The Chemical Brothers' - then again, the 'ZZ Top Greatest Hits' album/video was released when 'The Chemical Brothers' were charting their first single - so there is a big (decades worth of) difference. Both stand on their own separate merits - but it is like comparing apples to oranges. Rating: - * ZZ Tops Greatest is the Greatest ... Most music videos spend much of the time showing the performers doing their thing on stage which tends to be boring. This video is not only full of great Top Tunes but has a well done story line involved with each one. My family and I have watched this video many times and will continue to watch it. If you like ZZ Top and action in your videos, this is a must have! Rating:  - * [Three-and-a-half stars ouf of Four] Very fine video collection but like Cheap Trick, not complete Argghhh! ... I espeically like TV Dinners but where are the ones for Back to the Future III & 'Arrested for driving while...' Like Cheap Trick, the second oldest US band, ZZ-Top did 'Pre-MTV' vids too. I guess they are lost forever... Rating: - * ZZ Top - Greatest Hits - The Video Collection ... I am a ZZ Top fanatic of course I am going to like this. Rating:  - * ZZ Top Videos ... The videos contained on this DVD bring me back to when I was a teenager. These uniquely crafted videos, containing the car, keychain, and of course the beautiful women, along with the terrific music make this DVD collection an absolute must have for all ZZ Top fans. |
