Rating:  - * Great stuff, but a note of caution ... I really like The Swingle Singers, but I will leave for others to speak to the musicianship. This offering is great in that you get two discs for one very low price. The one word of caution is that both discs were previously released separately. Bach Hits Back is apparently no longer available as a separate disc. The Mozart disc is available elsewhere, but with a slightly different title. (A Capella Amadeus was the subtitle.) Rating: - * Fantastic value for such high quality recordings!!!! ... This is an amazing value for 2 cds of phenomenal a cappella group The Swingle Singers. I bought the same cds from virgin Records in 2000 but I ended up giving it to a friend as a present. Am glad to have found this gem here at Amazon for such a low price. Being a former professional chorale singer myself, the Swingle Singers are just top-notch. Same calibre as that of the King's Singers but mixed voices though. Clean lines, precise, accurate singing. My faves are Badinerie which I use as my MP3 ringtone, Air on a G String and Three-Part Invention. Check out the King's Singers, The Real Group (from Sweden) and The Singers Unlimited. Ohhhh... Such talent. Thank you! Rating: - * Classical and Fresh ... It's real live classical music - but with a new sound. For the price, you can't beat these 2 discs for Swingle excellence! Rating: - * Fantastique ... Un disque magnifique pour tous les amoureux de la musique chorale , une performance rare à déguster sans mesure ! Rating:  - * Flats and Sharps ... I enjoy the Swingle Singers very much but sadly, in this album they are flat on about half of the tracks. When they are on key, they are very, very good. When they are flat they are awful. Recommendation: buy a different Swingle Singers CD. |
