studio album, The Illusion of Progress. The new Flip/Atlantic
recording will be released on August 19th with the first single
Believe hitting radio on June 24th. Staind' s last 3 studio
albums have debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album
chart, putting them in an elite class that includes U2, Metallica,
Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Van Halen, and Disturbed.
Over the past decade, Staind has sold more than 15 million
records worldwide. They' ve had four #1 singles that span three
different radio formats, including two massive crossover
singles, It' s Been Awhile and Right Here (certified RIAA
gold). But the band has never let their massive success get to
their heads, lead guitarist Mike Mushok says that above all the
band values a record that we love, and after that, we want
other people to hear it, like it and be able to relate to it. Working
with renowned producer Johnny K on the album, it will be impossible
not to love what Lewis considers the band s most musical CD
with songs that are pretty timeless in their texture. Staind will
be on the road all summer with 3 Doors Down headlining shows
in over 40 cities across the country before joining Nickelback
in September to continue the tour internationally.

Rating: - * GREAT ... They recorded this album in Aaron Lewis's barn (with all the professional essentials) which saved alot of time and money since it costs quite a bit to record at a studio, which gave the album a real good sound and feel the acoustics in that building did amazing things for this CD... There are alot of nice mellow meaningful songs on this album that really grab you and pull you in especially "The Corner". If you are a Staind fan or just want something that has MORE feeling buy this album, it is worth it. Rating: - * It's Staind! ... What do you expect? The music moves me like no other. This CD is more of the same. They are by far my favorite band for their unique sound. Rating: - * The Illusion of Progress ... I love Aaron Lewis's music and this is a great addition to my collection Rating: - * Close, but not quite ... Well, comparatively speaking, this album is almost as good as the rest. Yes, it is on the softer side, and can get a little bland at times; but, all in all, it's a good album. Their slower "ballad style" songs are decent but repetitive. It is a good album. I enjoyed it; however, I'd rather listen to Chapter V or 14 Shades of Grey. Rating: - * Lame ... The album isn't really all THAT bad but it just all sounds so generic and bland. The only way I can really describe it is "lame." I'm so disappointed because I love Staind (from Dysfunction to Chapter V). The one song that seemed promising was Rainy Day Parade but it's just goofy sounding when he actually sings that during the chorus (Rainy Day Parade???..c'mon now). I guess you need to really REALLY love Staind to truly enjoy this or else you'll be like me and just go "..eh.."
