Easy Tiger(more) »rank: 2401by: Ryan Adams
:Album Description:I think there are really only two kinds of pop music CDs these days. There are the ones you listen to only once or twice, maybe downloading the single good song to your iPod or computer; then there are others that grow stronger, sweeter, and more necessary each time you play them. Gold was that way; Cold Roses was that way; so was Jacksonville City Nights. I won't say Adams is the best North American singer-songwriter since Neil Young...but I won't say he isn't, either. What I know is there has never been a Ryan Adams record quite as strong and together ... |

Heartbreaker(more) »rank: 4725by: Ryan Adams
:Album Description:Exclusive on off pressing on vinyl limited to 500 copies. This is his solo debut from 2000, recorded in Nashville in 12 days, guest contributions include Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch & Kim Richey. 's Best of 2000:Heartbreaker opens with an argument about a Morrissey song before the band kicks into the sloppy and rollicking 'To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High),' and certainly the gloomster's self-referential sadness hangs over Ryan Adams's songs. But Adams, the notoriously raucous frontman for the defunct Whiskeytown, is a country boy at heart if not in attitude, so there is a lingering pastoral ... |

Gold(more) »rank: 3873by: Ryan Adams
:Album Description:UK pressing of the second solo album from the American Alt-Roots star (and former Whiskeytown frontman) includes one bonus track: 'Rosalie Come & Go'. Originally released in 2001, Gold was a musical triumph for the young singer/songwriter and received more press attention and critical acclaim than anything he has released, both before and after. 17 tracks. Universal. :Torrential creativity has fast-forwarded the artistic evolution of former Whiskeytown frontman Ryan Adams from country-rock boy wonder (see Faithless Street) to despondent troubadour with a 1960s fixation (his solo debut Heartbreaker), but it may also explain why listeners often need to wade through some pedestrian ... |

:Album Description:UK version features 2 bonus tracks, 'Always On My Mind' & 'Jeane'. Ryan & the Cardinals return again in 2005 with another studio album, Jacksonville City Nights. 16 tracks in total. Lost Highway. 2005. :Arguably the most eclectically prolific artist since Prince, Ryan Adams continues his chameleon revivalism with his most straightforward country music to date. Having evoked the inspiration of bands ranging from T. Rex to the Grateful Dead on previous solo releases, the former Whiskeytown frontman here channels the likes of Faron Young on 'My Heart Is Broken,' while framing the shot-and-a-beer opener, 'A Kiss Before I Go,' with honky-tonk ... |

29(more) »rank: 8184by: Ryan Adams
:Album Description:Japanese pressing of 29, Ryan's third and final album for 2005. 29 is a solo album of all new and original material. 9 tracks. Universal. 2005. :On his third release of a most prolific year, Ryan Adams takes a break from his band, the Cardinals, to fashion an introspective song cycle with stripped-down arrangements focused on acoustic guitar or solo piano. After the propulsive, self-mythologizing title track opens the album in brazen fashion, forging an unlikely bond of comparison between John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band and the early '70s Grateful Dead, much of the rest of 29 finds Adams at his dreamiest ... |
