: :Tiffany Arbuckle Lee (aka Plumb) is somewhat of an enigma. She doesn't constantly grace the covers of magazines or music trades, yet her art is highly regarded in Christian (and beyond) music circles as both a songwriter and artist. She draws strong vocal comparisons to Dido and Amy Lee of Evanescence, yet it was the latter's own admission that her style is modeled after Plumb. Chaotic Resolve, Plumb's fourth studio release, is yet another outstanding testament to the gifts of this amazing young woman. Proving her lyrical prowess, Plumb aptly captures her essence on 'Motion' when she sings, 'Do I Make You Feel ...

: :There shall be no sophomore slump here. Plumb's Candycoatedwaterdrops is one of the better modern-rock outings in the world of contemporary Christian music. As with their self-titled debut in 1997, Plumb embrace programming and loops on their second recording. However, this time singer-songwriter Tiffany Arbuckle steps up in the mix and takes center stage, making the band's sound all too human. 'Late Great Planet Earth,' 'Here with Me,' and 'Solace' testify that Arbuckle and the band can certainly shake the walls. Songs like 'Phobic' offer a counterpoint with a dreamy and lush backdrop. Producer Matt Bronleewe is another reason why Candycoatedwaterdrops stands tall, ...

:Album Description:Japanese enhanced pressing. Toshiba. 2005. :Though known for his utopian idealism, Walt Disney's vision had a dark side that frequently evinced itself in the animated features that made his legend. But seldom was Disney's cynicism about human nature more heartbreaking than in his studio's 1942 adaptation of Felix Saltin's nature-based novel. The film broke new ground in several areas, not the least of which it's sparing use of dialog: Bambi contains less than a thousand spoken words. That alone placed greater emphasis on an orchestral musical score than had any previous animated film, and Disney vets Frank Churchill and Edward Plumb responded ...

On her eighth studio album, Damita Jo--the title lifted from her middle name--Janet Jackson teams up with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis once again on what is perhaps the most feverish album in her two decade long career. Whether she's taking the listener on a torrid excursion in the four song island suite, or boasting of her sexual prowess on "Sexhibition's" word games lyrics, where she tells fans "relax, it's just sex," the singer tries hard--maybe too hard--to establish herself as a sexual avatar with portfolio. But in "Strawberry Bounce," she seems more like a pole dancer in stilettos than a social revolutionary, as she catalogs the way she plans to make her inamorato lose control, and she just sounds silly on "Moist," which extols the female orgasm. Instead, the best moments on the album are when Jackson comes off as saucy and winsome instead of a heavy breather, like on the down-tempo "Thinkin' Bout My Ex," her collaboration with Babyface, which seems lifted right out of her autobiography, and on the athletic Prince clone "Just A Little While." The title track is Jackson's own version of J-Lo's "Jenny On the Block," and she sounds just as insincere as Lopez when she tried to convince us that she was just an ordinary neighborhood diva. Instead, Janet’s much more persuasive when she joins up with hip-hop savant Kanye West on "My Baby," pairing her breathy, little girl vocals to his sharp, focused rap. Then and only then does Damita Jo sound like love can actually trump sex. --Jaan Uhelszki
