: :For their hard-core under-18 fans, of course, the Backstreet Boys are all that, and a bag of chips and free soda to boot. Millennium, the follow-up to the quintet's umpteen-million-selling debut, offers more reasons why so many of the rest of us have found a place for them in our hearts. The Boys' ultrapackaged look and up-to-date production underscore the quality of their best tracks; only a churl could deny that 'I Want It That Way' is one fine radio-aimed declaration of love, or that 'Larger Than Life' makes the most of its Daft Punk ...

by: Shakira

: : The English-language Oral Fixation Vol. 2 finds Shakira reclaiming some of the bite she showcased on 1998's smashing Donde Estan Los Ladrones? The Colombian rock goddess is making up for lost time: this is her second disc of new material in 2005. It's quite a feat, considering the four-year gap since Laundry Service, her scattershot, English-language debut album. Oral Fixation Vol. 2 is more mature and better focused than the spin-cycle pop of that 2001 disc. Kick-off track 'How Do You Do' starts with a haunting reading of 'The Lord's Prayer' before launching into ...

by: Goldfrapp

:Album Description:2003 album follows their debut Felt Mountain, Black Cherry is a Moroder meets Morricone affair, sexually explicit with a dancefloor electro flavor. 10 tracks. Mute. :Goldfrapp's Black Cherry inhabits a dark alley, bristling with urban menace and throbbing with a deep electronic pulse--a far cry from their breezy debut, which gently led the listener to a fairytale aural utopia occupied by Parisian pop, whistling divas and baroque masters. Having given up the countryside for a neon-lit studio, Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory have infused Black Cherry with an intensity and brooding claustrophobia that's both ...

: :The second volume of Prince's collection of singles (and a couple of outtakes) has sex on the brain, and a few other places. Apparently aimed at, shall we say, the harder-core fan of the Artist, this disc still ends its parade of R-rated sallies ('Dirty Mind,' 'Sexy M.F.,' 'Head') with a cleansing 'Purple Rain.' And just to blur things even more, among its Top 10 hits are candidly horny moments like 'Kiss' and 'Little Red Corvette'--songs that add new twists to the African-American store of body-talkin' funkin'-blues poetry. --Rickey Wright

:Album Description:Includes the bonus tracks Secret Luv and Suplang. :Early buzz on The Emancipation of Mimi predicted that this would be the disc to mark 'the return of the voice'--the voice being that glass-shattering instrument that propelled Carey to bestselling female artist of all time status--and mostly it is. But because of the small army of talent involved in its assembly, the album is way more than just a comeback vehicle. For proof, try the straight-ahead, look-out-Beyoncé-Mimi's-still-got-it 'Mine Again'; the '70s-soul cuddle-up 'Circles,' a don't-attempt-on-American Idol love song; or the gospel dazzlers 'Fly Like a ...

:Album Description:French band, a highly danceable mix of disco, house and techno, who just recently supported the Chemical Brothers on their European tour dates. The band is currentlybuzzing in the U.K. music press. 16 tracks. Domestic available on Virgin as of March 25, 1997. :After rocking the suburbs with the infectious and persistent 'Da Funk' (with its amusingly pointless Spike Jonze video), Gallic pranksters Daft Punk unleashed Homework, an album that combined everything good about house music with everything bad about French pop and changed the face of dance music in the process. The sound ...

For those who haven't noticed (a group that apparently includes millions of Americans), the sport that we call soccer and the rest of the world calls football is big. Very big. And no one is bigger than Real Madrid, the subject of Real - The Movie. This is the soccer equivalent of the New York Yankees, a rich, perennially successful club that features many of the biggest stars in the world; as of 2005, when the film was released, players included England's David Beckham and Michael Owen, Brazil's Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, Portugal's Luis Figo, and France's Zinedine Zidane (who notoriously head-butted an Italian opponent in the 2006 World Cup final). All of them can be seen in the quasi-documentary sections of the film, as Real prepares for a climactic match against rival Barcelona. Scenes of the players practicing, the coaches strategizing, and the match itself are well done, with crisp cinematography, occasional use of animation and other effects, and an overall kinetic feeling well suited to the sport. But director Borja Manso also wants Real - The Movie to explain to the uninitiated just what it is that makes Real such a big deal all around the world. To that end, he incorporates several personal (and fictional) stories: A Tokyo schoolboy distressed over his girlfriend's shrieking obsession with Beckham. A young Madrid history teacher who doesn't understand Real mania, and his neighbor, an elderly woman who's been unable to return to the stadium since her husband passed away. A Senegalese kid dying to go to soccer school. A teenage girl in New York who suffers a severe leg injury during a match and finds inspiration in Ronaldo's rehabilitation after a similar incident. Pretty standard stuff, by and large, and way too on-the-nose to be very compelling. Combine all of that with some newsreel footage from Real's early days and lots of throbbing, thrilling music, and it all amounts to a big, glossy valentine packaged as wholesome family fare. Nothing wrong with that--unless you're a Boston Red Sox fan. --Sam Graham

The Olsen twins are turning 16, and they're celebrating with this collection of party games and, you guessed it, driving lessons. The good news is that if you can help them get past the obstacles and pass the test, they'll take you out with their new driver's licenses to a variety of fun minigame activities, like rock climbing, riding Jet Skis, surfing, ATV quad racing, and shopping for clothes. Earn points in the party games and spend them to upgrade the car and unlock cool tunes and cooler outfits.

It's not very often that a game aims to be fun and realistic while instilling a sense of personal involvement and responsibility. Mary-Kate and Ashley: Winners Circle does that within the theme of horseback riding. Players compete in such equestrian events as dressage, jumping, and cross-country, and learn the basics of caring for a horse. The game offers a practice mode, which lets riders master the controls and explore a course before entering events, and an adventure mode with large forest and island levels where players can play minigames or just simply explore.
