Oracular Spectacular(more) »rank: 196by: MGMT
:Album Description:MGMT invites you to open your mind to the multi-dimensional vibrating Technicolor sounds of Oracular Spectacular. Amazon.co.uk:The term Oracular Spectacular might not mean much, if anything, at all--it's essentially nonsensical--but that doesn't stop it feeling exactlyright. Here is a band that treats dizzy cross-eyed awe and a vast bounding sense of sonic weightlessness as their yardstick, jostling to surpass themselves on a track-by-track basis and aiming for the musical equivalent of performing somersaults in tye-dye t-shirts off the rings of Jupiter. MGMT seemingly submit this debut album as an application to acquire and even ... |

Coco(more) »rank: 100by: Colbie Caillat
:Album Description:Singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat is one of the most celebrated artists to emerge from the growing talent pool of digitally-savvy self-launched artists, whose rise to prominence as the #1 unsigned artist on the popular myspace site has been largely due to her refreshing sense of understatement. With no marketing push and only the power of the music behind her, Caillat became a sensation on the social networking site. Rolling Stone highlighted her as one of the top female artists on myspace. Ultimately, her number of friends swelled to more than 100,000. Her profile has been ... |

Sleep Through The Static(more) »rank: 167by: Jack Johnson
: :My friends and I have just finished recording a new album called Sleep Through the Static. At this point in my life I weigh about 190 lbs and my ear hairs are getting longer. I also have a couple of kids. My wife popped them out, but I helped. Some of the songs on this album are about making babies. Some of the songs are about raising them. Some of the songs are about the world that these children will grow up in; a world of war and love, and hate, and time and space. ... |

Live at Montreux 1991-1992(more) »rank: 668starring: Tori Amos
:Description:These two concerts from Montreux in 1991 and 1992 catch Tori Amos right at the start of her solo career. The first, from July 1991, was filmed a few months before the release of her 'Little Earthquakes' album and the second from July 1992 followed a few months after. There is a fascinating progression from one year to the next as she grows in confidence and skill as a live performer, buoyed by the critical and commercial success of the album. Naturally most of the songs are taken from 'Little Earthquakes' but there are also ... |

: : Bob Seger Photos More from Bob Seger Stranger in Town Nine Tonight Face The Promise Against The Wind Greatest Hits 2 Night Moves Amazon.com:Bob Seger has racked up a lot of worthy tracks over the years, but it took until 1994 for a greatest hits package to appear. Voilà. The bad news: We're missing an awful lot of songs here. Night Moves is Seger's crit-pick album, and a great place to start if you don't have any Seger at all. Next in the rankings is Stranger in Town. Otherwise, his highs are ... |

Back in Black(more) »rank: 95by: AC/DC
: :\N essential recording:Most critics complain Back in Black, the album AC/DC recorded after the death of their original lead screamer Bon Scott, is ridiculously juvenile, obvious, snickering, bludgeoning, derivative, single-minded about sex and booze, a big cartoon. All true, of course, and--on rock 'n' ragers like 'What Do You Do For Money Honey,' 'You Shook Me All Night Long,' and the title track--all great. As Scott's replacement Brian Johnson reminds us, loud and crunchy, no-holds-barred 'rock and roll ain't noise pollution...it makes good, good sense.' Never trust anyone who refuses to drink domestic ... |

This complex, often psychedelic music works very well because Pink Floyd doesn't rush anything; the songs are mainly slow to mid-tempo, with attention paid throughout to musical texture and mood. The sound effects on songs like 'On the Run,' 'Time' and especially 'Money' (with sampled sounds of clinking coins ... |

The Soul of Rock and Roll(more) »rank: 157by: Roy Orbison
:Album Description:Here is, bar none, the most all-inclusive anthology ever assembled to honor the greatest singer ever considered to be a 'Rock and Roll artist.' But Roy Kelton Orbison was so much more: behind his ever-present sunglasses and beneath his shock of raven-black hair, clad in black, he was rock's Mystery Man, the possessor of the most glorious voice ever to soar on such signature songs as 'Only The Lonely,' 'In Dreams,' 'Running Scared,' 'Crying' and 'Oh, Pretty Woman,' to cite a mere handful of his Top Ten hits. As Orbison's widow, Barbara, who is ... |

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
