Eee-O-11: The Best Of The Rat Pack(more) »rank: 2740by: Frank Sinatra
: :Timed to the release of the 2001 remake of the Sinatra-Martin-Davis anti-classic Ocean's 11, this 18-track compendium serves as less a best-of than an introduction to the high-living nightclub ethos the Rat Pack embodied. Along with some true knockouts, mostly from Frank's catalog, Eee-O 11's mostly beltingly upbeat tracks also include the impossibly corny (a 'When You're Smiling' that seems to be putting Dino himself to sleep) and a couple of straitjacketed studio takes on the Pack's onstage antics (both Sammy duets). Handily, 11 culls one of the original movie's few high points--the rousing Davis blues that provides this disc's title--for a closer. ... |

The Reprise Collection(more) »rank: 11952by: Frank Sinatra
: :The pundits claim that Ol' Blue Eyes did his best work with Columbia in the '50s, but there's more great '60s and '70s stuff here than you can shake a stick at. After all, Sinatra wouldn't start his own label only to sing schlock. This four-CD set was released to celebrate The Chairman's 75th birthday and it traces the mellowing of that tremendous voice like the aging of a fine wine. It also adds eight unreleased tracks to a staggering song list highlighted by biggies like 'New York, New York,' 'My Way,' 'The Way You Look Tonight,' 'It Was a Very Good Year,' ... |

Where Are You?(more) »rank: 15029by: Frank Sinatra
: :Underrated, at least in comparison with the better-known In the Wee Small Hours and Sings for Only the Lonely, 1957's Where Are You? is another excellent collection of melancholy torch songs, including 'Lonely Town,' 'The Night We Called It a Day,' 'I Think of You,' and 'Maybe You'll Be There.' As on those records, Sinatra doesn't sing so much as breathe, never overwhelming the fragility of the compositions with excessive displays of emotion. Of course, this approach just makes the songs sound that much sadder. This was also the first record Sinatra recorded in stereo, and Gordon Jenkins's lush string arrangements are obviously ... |

Ol' Blue Eyes Is Back(more) »rank: 13071by: Frank Sinatra
: :Having announced his retirement from the music biz in 1970, Sinatra returned in 1973 with this sadly uneven record. Though its title suggests a triumphant mood, the feel of the album is surprisingly down. 'Let Me Try Again,' 'Nobody Wins' and 'There Used to Be a Ballpark' revisit the pessimism of The September of My Years and Watertown (albeit with less satisfying results), and his cover of 'Send in the Clowns' is a bummer on several levels. The arrangements, by Don Costa and Gordon Jenkins, are overly slick and soggy, and Sinatra doesn't seem too excited about returning to the recording studio. This ... |

: : Franks Sinatra Photos More from Ole Blue Eyes Classic Sinatra In the Wee Small Hours Frank Sinatra Sings for Only the Lonely The Capitol Years Songs for Swingin’ Lovers Come Dance with Me! Amazon.com:When critics refer to Sinatra's Capitol albums, their highest praise is usually reserved for the dark melancholy of Wee Small Hours or Only the Lonely. But the upbeat 'Swinging' records should not be ignored. Probably the finest of these albums is Come Fly with Me. The first of Sinatra's albums with arranger Billy May (whose arrangements have been overshadowed by Nelson Riddle's), Fly ... |

:Album Description:First ever single-disc long song collection spanning Sinatra's years with Reprise Records & Capitol Records. Features Sinatra's studio duet with Celine Dion - 'All They Way'. Just in time for Valentine's Day. Reprise Records. :The Sinatra who could more than convincingly offer that he had a crush on you is represented by this sweetly packaged 22-track collection. Culled mostly from the early Reprise years (with a four-cut sample of Capitol performances), Greatest Love Songs makes an airtight case for his work during the period. Often tender, occasionally enthusiastic, these selections skirt the bombast and self-parody the Chairman sometimes fell into on his ... |

DVD features
Yes, the unrated edition of The Dukes of Hazzard has nudity... but no, it's not of Jessica Simpson, but topless sorority girls. There are also two sets--"PG-13" and "unrated"--of deleted scenes and bloopers. The four minutes of unrated deleted scenes (supplementing the 25 minutes of "PG-13" deleted scenes) include more sorority girls and a menage à trois for Johnny Knoxville . The five minutes of unrated bloopers (the same amount as the "PG-13" bloopers) feature a few more girls but mostly bad language. Featurettes discuss the Daisy Duke short shorts (and show how you can make your own), car stunts, and the making of the movie (narrated by a cast member of the original TV series). --David Horiuchi
