Editorial Review:

Album Description:
On March 6th, Julieta Venegas recorded her MTV Unplugged at the Churubusco Studies in Mexico City, where she presented new songs besides interpreting some of her greatest hits in an intimate atmosphere to a live audience.

This production counts on important and interesting collaborations like two time Oscar winner, Gustavo Santaolalla, who accompanied her with the banjo and sang the chorus of the song 'Algun Dia (Someday)'. Brazilian singer, Marisa Monte featured in song 'Illusion', a new and beautiful song that combines the Spanish and Portuguese language.

Also Mala Rodriguez joined Julieta and included a strong hip hop movement to the song 'Eres Para Mi (You are for Me)', whereas the vocalist of Porter, Juan Carlos had a unique participation in 'Algun Dia (Someday)'.

In addition, the very talented Natalia Lafourcade comprised of the orchestra and played several instruments during the night, whereas the talented musician and composer, Jacques Morelenbaum accompanied Julieta on the cello in 'De mis Pasos (From my foot steps)'.

People en Español
There’s no doubt that Julieta Venegas is talented in the recording studio. Three great albums have proved her originality (Aquí,, Bueninvento, ) and the demand for her music (Limón y Sal sold a million copies). But on stage, Venegas doesn’t exude much energy or passion, so making a live album was risky for her career. On the other hand, like Alanis Morissette, Venegas was born to sing in small and intimate acoustic concert venues, and away from the masses, she knows how to create the magic one can find in her albums. On MTV Unpluggged, Venegas invites performers like Natalia Lafourcade, La Mala Rodríguez, Marisa Monte, and Juan Son to recreate new versions of her greatest hits that result in fresh and exciting collaborations. It’s a great musical montage of her practically perfect career.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Great CD!! ...
Love this CD, its playing constantly in my car. All her new and old songs are on this CD. Love it.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - * Good, but a little dissapointing ...
I absolutely loved Limon y Sal, and so I was surprisingly dissapointed with this album. I think the main reason is that it sounds like the music engineer messed up the vocal recording. The vocals aren't nearly as clear and expressive as in Limon y Sal. Also, the acoustic arrangements didn't do much for me, which is surprising because I've loved just about every other MTV Unplugged album that I've ever had. On the other hand, I did enjoy getting to hear a selection of Julieta's older songs, and I like "El Presente", so overall it is a nice album to have.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Julieta... por supuesto... ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Mexican POP Extravaganza ...
Jullieta Venegas sounds delightful in this remarkable MTV Unplugged album.
I was truly pleasantly surprised and would highly reccommend it even if it
is your first time buying Latin Pop. She has a beautiful distinctive voice and
musicians with a lot of heart and soul to accompany her.
A must have for your collection.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * A wonderful talent ***** ...
I discovered Julieta Venegas while vacationing in Chile. Her song "Lento" came on the T.V. I was immediately drawn to the tune. I searched out the CD and was hooked. She is a great songwriter, arranger, singer and I have yet to hear a song of hers I don't enjoy. I am not generally a big Latin music fan, but her songs, while sung in Spanish, are much more diverse than that catagorization would imply.

Over the course of 15 hours on four double-sided DVDs, Chicago Bulls: The 1990s documents the Bulls' incredible run of six NBA championships in eight years led by the game's greatest-ever player, Michael Jordan. Like the earlier DVD release Ultimate Jordan, it collects a number of programs originally released on VHS, in this case the yearly highlight videos that summarized each of the six championship seasons, plus a five-minute introduction that covers the franchise starting in the 1960s and ending with its drafting of Jordan.

Where the NBA Dynasty series (the other initial entry is the slightly meatier Los Angeles Lakers: The Complete History) outdoes Ultimate Jordan is in the six playoff games--one for each year--as they were originally broadcast, minus halftime and commercials. Having the nearly complete game (usually running 90-100 minutes, from the TV introductions to post-game interviews) means you can skip straight to John Paxson's clutch basket or what was expected to be the final shot of Jordan's career. Or you can savor each game in its entirety, all the better to appreciate the artistry of Jordan in his three-pointer barrage against Portland or his "flu game" against Utah. You can see other great players too, of course, including Jordan's teammates--Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman--and those opponents unfortunate enough to face the Bulls--Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, Karl Malone, and others. Because these are all NBA Finals games, you won't see Jordan's shot over Craig Ehlo or his 63-point coming-out party against Boston, but the 1990s Chicago Bulls were a team for the ages, and merely having their games--some of them all-time classics--available for home viewing is a major milestone in archived sports. --David Horiuchi

Perhaps more than any other sport, basketball is a star-driven event: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Dennis Rodman, Shaquille O'Neal--the list could go on and on. But it's not necessarily these athletes' overall careers that we remember as much as the breathtaking individual plays these illustrious men have given us. Is it possible to break down a hundred of these greatest moments in NBA history? The NBA's 100 Greatest Plays certainly tries.

While last-minute heroics tend to be the standard by which we define excellence, there are many other moments that have left an indelible impression, many of them highlighted here. The video clips fall into 10 categories: Dunks, Alley-oops, Assists, Steals, Blocks, Teamwork, the Clutch Shot, Moves, Hustle, and Buzzer-Beaters. At the beginning of each section is a brief introduction. Before showing the top 10 dunks of all time, for example, we learn about the evolution of the dunk--from the first slam to the man who could fly, Michael Jordan--and we hear background commentary from NBA legends such as Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Dr. J, and Bill Russell. This video recalls familiar moments of NBA lore that you will want to own for countless repeat viewings. --Jeremy Storey
